We are grateful to our consulting scholar, Adam Rome (Department of History, Pennsylvania State University), who is writing a book about Earth Day.  Professor Rome offered key interpretive ideas, pointed us to important documents, and helped assure the accuracy of the information on this site.  He also shared draft material from his Earth Day book, which will be published in 2011 by Hill and Wang.
